Congratulations The Tunis Expat Meetup Group!  The January meetup was a resounding success as more and more people are beginning to join them!  Both English and Tunisians got together and had a great evening at Biwa in  Les Berges du Lac to improve language skills or learn cultural differences!  The friendliness between all was terrific!  You can find out more on their website http://expat.meetup.com/183/

EXPATS IN HAMMAMET? - MESSAGE FROM NIZAR!
Hi everyone
I am really impressed with what you are trying to put together.  it is a brilliant idea to get together have fun and share your experiences in Tunisia.  We had a similar group here in our Indian restaurant too in Hammamet the Taj Mahal in Medina Yasmine Hammamet.  They were about 12, they used to meet for a drink and a bite to eat. Some of them are tour operators reps.
If you are in Hammamet pop and have a drink at our restaurant, we also have an Indian dance every Saturday.
Best of luck
Nizar

EXPATS IN HAMMAMET? - MESSAGE FROM STACY
How about meeting at Kate's bar 'The View,' on the seafront in Hammamet Yasmine?

IN HAMMAMET SOUTH? - Pop into Jayne's new bar/restaurant 'The Steakhouse' opposite Hotel Paradis

If the thought of queuing up in the January sales in the UK, is too much to take in, spare a thought for the shoppers caught up in the mayhem that followed the announcement of the sales at Carrefour in Tunis.

Watching the video will make anything else seem like a picnic!

British Grub To Your Door!

I have briefly been an expat myself, I worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a while in which yes, I did miss some decent chocolate, crisps etc!

I actually got the idea a couple of years ago in which I read an article in a newspaper about what foods expats miss, since then me and my partner have had a litttle baby so my idea got sidetracked a bit; however 2 years on it has finally gone live!

I came across the No Marmite In Tunisia site in which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It does have a sense of a good community spirit there!  I visited Tunisia way back back in 1995 when I was a young lad of 21. I stayed in a town called Monastir at the Sahara Hotel and had a great time!  We also went into Sousse

I would love to go back to Tunisia one day as I thought it was a nice country with friendly people.
The one thing that I do remember was that I could have sold my girlfriend for 20 camels at the Monastir market ha ha!!

Glyen Boakes has a new website offering a great service to British expats abroad
