My daughter Katrina landed a job with a British company based in Les Berges du Lac, Tunis.  The job was telesales and it was advertised in La Presse daily newspaper.  She has now moved on to the English speaking department of a recruitment agency, again based in Tunis.  She would not have found either of these jobs based in England.  Most of the time, you need to be in the country to obtain employment, either through word of mouth, contacts or adverts in the press!

Hi Melanie,

I know its a long shot but I am desperate to find any type of work in Tunisia.  My husband was refused settlement visa  which we will appeal in Tunis, they said we did not provide my husband's bank statement which we did and they overlooked so many issues so inchalla we will get it overturned.  We have been together for 2 years and married 4 months ago and it is so hard being separated that we are looking at all options to be back together again.  My husband and I would be grateful for any word on employment.  Thank you

Hello Elizabeth, I get so many requests like this, I really wish I could help!  Tell your husband to buy the newspaper La Presse on a Sunday, as on this day it has the largest selection of jobs advertised.  From time to time, you get requests for people who can speak English (fluently)  What you will find are loads of call centre jobs, for mostly French speakers, and now more and more often they are asking for German and Italian speakers.  Let's hope Britain will be encouraged to use Tunisia instead of places like India for their call centres???  Ask your husband to ask around also, around family and friends, as my daughter has gained many of her jobs through word of mouth!

Hi Melanie,

Two questions for you? Do you know if allergymatters is still looking for people to work for them? also, the pictures on the left of the arab sofa's are they for sale? do you know where I could purchase exactly the same? if so, could you email me with details?

I would be gladly appreciated.

Kind regards

Miriam
